Tour de Prato

Today was a day full of walking. We toured all around Prato with our own little tour guide, my extremely grown up sister, Charise. As she led us around the quaint city complete with castle she joked with locals, ordered food, and introduced us to friends, completely in Italian. Unbelievable. We sat and had Pepsi at the bar, ate kababs(which are not veggies and meat on a stick) and drank macchiati. The coffee here is extremely different. Much smaller portions than in America, if you can imagine that! We also went grocery shopping, the store was about the size of a CVS or Walgreens, and it was packed with people. There was an entire aisle filled only with pasta. Big pasta, little pasta, long, fat pasta, and teeny tiny pasta in the shape of a star. We had so much fun cruising around Prato, Charise taught us an old Tuscan song she's learned and we tried to sing it on our 25 minute walk home from the grocery store. It has been so much fun already to just be with sisters, laughing and giggling. Tonight we went to Antichi Sapori, one of Reese's fav restaurants. Chandee and Charise both got pizza, and I got penne agli scampi. It was delightful, the little shrimps still had eyes and "whiskers" as Charise called them. Despite the oddity of pulling apart a sea creature to eat it's insides, it was actually pretty good. We topped it off with a slice of delectable cheesecake that was drizzled with plump blackberries. Mmmm, delish. So we end our adventure a little early tonight, it's only 12:20 and we're getting ready for bed. We have church in the morning, and then a day trip to Florence. Ciao!

(I'll add pictures when we figure out a way to get on a computer that will allow us to download them...we've taken some really great ones so far!)
