Camilla and Karina
Last Saturday, John and I were out of town and we started receiving texts from people in our small group. Chelsi, our friend who was pregnant with twins and about 7 months along, was having contractions. Not to worry though, this is the kind of thing that the doctors can stop early. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from my sister and she was saying that Chelsi was in labor. We had been praying for Chelsi since we got the first text, but we stepped it up a little more. We knew that babies were two months premature and we were worried about what that might mean.
Not even another 30 minutes later, we received another text telling us that the twins were here. Within four hours, Chelsi had started having contractions, gone into full labor, and given birth to two beautiful, perfect, and most amazingly of all, healthy little girls. Camilla and Karina had decided it was time to make their mark on the world, whether any of us were ready or not!
Camilla weighed 2 lbs. 15 oz. and Karina was right behind at just 2 lbs. 13 oz. They are doing extremely well, but they do have to stay in NICU for another 4-5 weeks. They are absolutely perfect, and the tiniest babies I have ever seen. We went to visit them tonight, and I loved being able to see their sweet parents love on them and show immense courage and faith. Birth is an amazing thing but to have twins two months early is another story. Downright miraculous I'd say.
The girls did a marvelous job on their first photo shoot. Welcome to the world, Camilla and Karina. You are loved.
